Michela Moscufo, Independent Journalist. New York City

Hi there! I’m a multimedia journalist who covers immigration, legacies of slavery, culture, politics and human rights. My work has been published by The Guardian US, Al Jazeera English, Reuters, NBC News and others.

For a sample, you can read a recent feature I wrote for The Guardian US: Harvard hired a researcher to uncover its ties to slavery. He says the results cost him his job or Al Jazeera English: In Venice, a choir of immigrants and locals tells a city’s story.

I have worked as a multimedia reporter for ABC News, covered small businesses during the pandemic for Forbes, and worked as an intern in the Business, Media and Technology unit of NBC News, where I contributed to investigations into Bill Gates’ farmland holdings and Amazon’s labor practices

I graduated from the Columbia Journalism School in 2021, and my Masters’ thesis about crowdfunded reparations programs during the pandemic was published by NBC News: White people are Venmoing Black people money. They call it 'reparations.'

Before becoming a journalist I worked on the production and development teams of an arts journal, The Brooklyn Rail, and was an assistant at the U.S. Pavilion of the 2017 Venice Biennale.

Thank you for your interest in my work!
